COURSE REGISTRATION - "Swedish Law and Ethics on the Protection of Laboratory Animals - with practical training". (1 cr.)
The course is aimed at persons who have formally received education and training in laboratory animal science elsewhere in another EU country, and who plan to carry out procedures (Function A), to design procedures or projects involving animals (Function B), to take care of laboratory animals (Function C), or to kill laboratory animals (Function D) in Sweden. The course is designed to meet the learning outcomes specified in the EU Education and Training Framework to fulfil the legal demands for the EU modules 1 (Legislation) and EU modules 2 (Ethics, Animal Welfare and the 3Rs) as set out by the Directive 2010/63/EU and by the Swedish legislation L150 (SJVFS 2019:9). Additionally, species-specific practical training and/or assessments for EU modules 3.2, 6.2 and 8 will be provided for those without appropriate training records on handling, restraint, humane killing and performance of minor procedures on animals.
