17. Are there any parts of the course that have been excellent? Please describe in what way.
Answers to this question: 20
Hela kursen har varit excellent!
Presentationstekniken har varit ovärderlig!
The experiential learning.
Most of the presentation skill part
Critical feedback on all the short presentations from group as well as lecturers has been excellent!
Ulf's lesson on body language during oral presentation were incredibly helpful. I feel more comfortable with presenting my research thanks to this course.
The teachers were great, 100% there, giving feedback and make us participate actively. This course was 'out of the box'. Courses like this make a difference between world-leading and 'small' universities.
Presentation techniques! Team work, coaching, change management, ha"handbook of creativity"
The part on presentation techniques was comprehensive and very hands on, based on experiential learning. I learnt many new things, that were clearly operationalized on a behavioral level, that improved my overall presentation skills in an apparent way; and I could also observe this development in the other participants. Moreover, the course gave me an understanding of why the things I was already doing well are efficient so that I could take them one step further. I also very much appreciated the work in groups and group processes that facilitated understanding on what contributes to healthy group cooperation as well as cooperation breakdown.
Anna HW and Ulf S for all feed back and good advices.
Yes the Parts with Ulf were excellent. lots of new things regarding presentation methods and having genuine effect on my presentation skills.
I think that both the description of cooperation mechanisms and presentation techniques were really good.
-
Close mentorship of the instructors, Anna and Ulf; Course content; Relevance of practicality of research knowledge translation; Variety of methodology to learn (group work/being filmed/didactic/presentations)
All excellent.
There was a clear positive difference in the presentation skills of some Ph.D students before and after teaching the presentation skills. Certainly, this course can enhance the ability of students to interact with their peers and supervisors and to present their research better in conferences and meetings.
The presentation techniques sessions were excellent!
The presentation of techniques.
This course was one of the best courses I have ever taken. I really appreciated all the knowledge we acquired regarding the presentation skills as well as Cooperation management. There was a great friendly atmospher during the course that made it even more productive. I enjoyed every minute of it.
It was excellent to film and look at your own presentation in order to understand what should be changed. I also liked that we got personal feed-back on our individual presentations.

18. Are there any parts of the course that did not help you to achieve the intended learning outcomes? Please describe why not?
Answers to this question: 13
nej
The more theoretical parts.
No
The schedule could have been arranged in a more group work friendly manner. There was a period of time scheduled for group work in week one, and I feel it was premature. Had that been swapped with a lecture from week two, then it would have been more beneficial.
No
No.
-
no
I think in some sense there were too much lectures - some did not feel that necessary. It made the schedule dens and gave little time to prepare, practice an reflect.
-
None.
The first friday (Dan) was not high quality
No

19. Did the course cover the areas that you expected? If not what was missing?
Answers to this question: 14
Ja
Ja
Could have provided more in-depth knowledge on cooperation. I would also have liked to know more about networking and those types of skills.
Yes
Yes
I had not expected the course to go into cooperation theory so much, but I am glad that it did. I now have some tools to help myself work together with others successfully.
Yes! This is an excellent course and you have to continue giving this course for future doctoral students! It´s neccessary with this knowledge!
Yes.

20. Do you have any recommendations as to how the course could be further improved?
Answers to this question: 15
Mycket viktig kurs! Hoppas alla doktorander får tillfälle att gå den!
Håll tider och var tydliga med schemat.
I would have liked to practice even more on presentations skills.
I would reduce the social skill / group dynamics part a bit and use more time for the presentation part. Specially the rhetoric part felt a bit short.
Nothing really, but it would be a shame if such a great course is not given in the future... it was by far the most useful, informative and best course I have attended during my PhD. Instead of cancelling it should get more funding such that it can be given at least twice a year and every single PhD student should have the opportunity to participate.
Address the scheduling of group work time. Before beginning group work, it would be pertinent to have covered the material that the students will have to discuss.
No. It´s completed!
Yes. The part on motivation/learning theory could be improved. It was however only one lecture. The presentation did not cover all angles of the subject such as intrinsic motivation and the latest research on what drives as well as inhibits creativity . But to be fair, I think that students fromother areas might have benefitted from this. As this is my field of work I felt that the content on learning theory was basic (besides the part on motivation).
The course was very intensive and maybe it would be appropriate to have some more scheduled time for the grope work and the individual examination.
the social skill part needs to be shorten. I would say make it a one week course, 3 days for presentation skills and 1-2 days for social skills
remove some of the non essential lectures.
-
may want to give a little bit more time for dedicated group work
The place was not good, hopefully to be held in Solna with adequate room, lecture hull and meeting rooms.
I suggest to offer this course obligatory as any researcher or scientist needs to learn how to cooperate within a group, how to manage difficulties and above that how to perform a good presentation as a representative of KI
